In my practice I am interested in re-using the existing photographic material, like family photographs, or extracting still images from the films. My work is concerned with communication, especially via photographs (letters, postcards, facebook) and film (family archive, holiday videos, skype). I am interested in the ‘background’ information contained in amateur photographs and videos. In my work I use references to popular cinema and, especially American, pop culture as I am interested in exploring its influence on  the way we take and view pictures.

Project ‘This conversation leads nowhere’ contains 25 stills from a skype conversation I had with my father. Images are matched with dialogs from 5 American feel-good films about father and daughter relationship.
